We put careful consideration into our uniform policy, including feedback from parents and staff.  We want to make it as convenient, but professional as possible.

Our uniform is a school issued polo shirt (the first shirt is provided free by the school) and beige/khaki bottoms. The bottoms can include school appropriate pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, but NO cargo pants/cargo shorts or stretch pants.

Does AZAST offer before & after school programs?

At AZAST, we understand the demands parents/guardians and families face in making sure our students have a safe, nurturing, and productive atmosphere both before and after-school.

For added convenience and to seize learning opportunities, we offer both before and after-school programs.

Our 1 hour before-school program (starting August 14th) begins at 7:00am.

Our after-school program (also starting on August 14th)  runs from 3:00pm to 5:30pm.

How does breakfast and lunch meal service work at AZAST?

AZAST participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP). AZAST’s food caterer provides high quality, healthy, and flavorful school breakfasts and lunches each school day. Students may elect to participate in the daily meal service or bring their own meal.

Breakfast and lunch menus are provided to parents & students each month, allowing students to order the desired meals. Upon enrollment, households participating in the NSLP will be qualified for either paid, reduced price, or free meals. Additional information about the NSLP will be made available to parents & households at the time of enrollment.

Does AZAST provide student transportation?

AZAST proudly serves a diverse downtown Phoenix community that is largely commuter based where parents & guardians drop off and pick up their child(ren) from our campus each school day or utilize the many downtown Phoenix transportation routes via Valley Bus & Metro

Although we do not provide pupil transportation to & from our campus, we are happy to work with families where transportation may be difficult by linking families together in promoting carpooling.

My child has an IEP or 504 plan. Does AZAST provide exceptional student services?

Students with an IEP or 504 are absolutely welcome in our school.  We have experience implementing them and a strict commitment to following them.  It's not just a matter of principle, but a matter of civil rights and making sure each student reaches their potential.

What are class sizes and student to teacher ratios at AZAST?

The research on the impact of class size on performance can be conflicting.  The majority of our classes are 15 students or less, however we can accommodate 20 to 30 in our oversized, systems approached, rooms.

Outside of its commitment to science & technology, what other subjects are taught at AZAST?

We love science & technology, but it's only part of who we are.  Our day includes: math, phonetics, reading, creative writing, citizenship, arts, music, and even yoga!.

Part of our educational philosophy is a deep value for innovation. Science & technology aren't just subjects, themselves, but a way to approach learning in all areas.
